Got a call yesterday from the Renault dealership saying they need to replace the traction battery!? I'm pretty sure it's not that serious based on this thread, but a shiny new battery doesn't sound that bad to me. But I've only clocked 36k miles on it.
Will keep updating...

Hi natelittle,
That’s amazing. Great that they’re just doing such major work without grumbling, but a bit concerning it needs doing at such low miles.
Let us know if it solves it

I purchased my Renault Megane Techno in December 2024 and have had ‘Battery Charging Impossible’ display on the dash on two separate occasions.
It’s a real issue, as I- like most I assume- rely on my car every day for work. In the first instance, the garage supposedly identified that a replacement relay was required to fix the issue. Whilst this temporarily solved the issue, I then had the fault come up again 3 weeks later, and took it to a different garage.
I’ve today collected my car after 9 days of it being with the garage (they require a special tool/key to be delivered which I understand isn’t usually kept on site and I think I heard mentioned may be a one-time-use- although not 100% certain on this). The issue identified upon diagnostics by the master tech was traced to the high voltage traction motor- an internal failure. The motor has been replaced under warranty.
Interestingly, and maybe worth noting- was that the feedback from the first garage to Renault customer support was that it was caused by an issue with my home charger - a zappi, a brand with which I gather others have experienced issues. The service manager at the second garage was adamant though that the fault had nothing to do with my home charger.
Also worth mentioning- I’ve experienced issues with my car alarm sounding when approaching my car with my remote before unlocking- usually happens when the charger is plugged in.
Secondly, 100% battery after charging with my home charger is circa 180miles, but I’ve noted that upon collecting my car from both garages (having been charged to full overnight at their site), the range is somehow 245miles… Unsure if these are even remotely relevant, but at least worth mentioning.

Got my car back on Wednesday and now I've got a red warning "Electric Motor Failure". Well I guess it's back to Renault for another repair...
