I have my megane e-tech since late Jan 2023 and, untill now, apart from a small issue with the lights, everything was ok.
Yesterday I was in the middle of a 400km trip and stopped at a fast charger on the motorway to charge the so much needed juice to complete the journey.
As I connect the car to the charging station, a message showed up “charging impossible” and I was completely unable to charge. I lock the car and returned 20 min later and the error continued to appear.
After 2 hours of several tries and several EVs being able to charge in the very same charging point I was trying to use I gave up and called a flatbed to transport the car to the dealer.
Still no news from what happen but I’ve searching a bit in this last few hours and it seems to be quite common in Renault cars (Zoe’s specially)
Does this ever happen to anyone with Megane?
Is there any way of resetting the car in order to the error stop showing?

Charging impossible
Renault should have offered you a road side charge option. That's what the dealer told us.
And yes I've had a few service station charges refuse to charge (while other EV cars charged successfully)
I always try to ensure when I charge on a trip I have enough to get to the next charger just in case. I also now tend to stick to charges I know work 100% like Ionity
There are various dances you can do that sometimes seem to help.
One is setting a scheduled charge to start a few minutes later than the present time.
Locking the car and then plugging in sometimes seems to help.
Powering off the dash hold the multimedia screen power button for 5 seconds or more and it should go blank. Wait a minute of so and then re press it to start it.
But other than that its just unplug wait and re-plug.
But clearly these Renault meganes just aren't fully compatible.
o complain to the Dealer and Renault UK directly.

It seems there is a known issue with the Renault Megane charging making it not operate correctly with some chargers (notably the Myengeri Zappi but also some commercial service station chargers. Renault are aware and apparently a firmware update will follow.
I'd raise this with the dealer (whom will likely have no idea at this stage) to be sure you are made aware of the update becoming available.

Hi Phorridge,
Thank you for the update.
According to the dealer, the motor had a malfunction so they changed it (still haven't quite figured out how a motor can prevent the car from charging... but I'm not an eletrician).
Still waiting for them to finish this reparation. Hopefully, it should be done within this week.
Right now, my main goal is to have may car back since they borrow me a diesel clio and the cost of fuel (I'm charging at work everyday for free) is hurting my personal finances.

Hi All,
Received the car back from the dealer last Friday.
The charging is ok but, the car lose a lot of power after 90kmh. The max speed in a straight line is now 130kmh, even in sport mode. And it's accelerating very slow...
I'm starting to consider to return or sell this car. I expected it to be somehow more reliable that it really is for a 50k€ car.
Just now, I went to check if there is some default configuration that can be causing this, and another error showed up... now is the lights that refuses to go on... even in manual mode.
Best regards,
Rudaaaa

Hi! Rudaaaa,
I've heard the "charge battery impossible" issue showed up also in Megane etech sold in Italy. It looks it happens on Megane without heat pump, and the solution is to replace the engine. Can you confirm your Megane is without heat pump?
It looks the Megane without heat pump is no longer sold in Italy.
Thanks!

Same here and it's happened on hot days too, especially when the car is left in the sun.
Hasn't stopped me using the vehicle or from charging via AC or DC.
