Anyone experienced this? Until last week, it always charged flawlessly and got around 3.9 miles/kWh.

I charged my Megane on Thursday overnight and when I unplugged it on Friday morning, it reported being at 79% (as scheduled). An hour later, I get in the car to drive to work and the car display states that the traction battery has 0% (88 miles!) and is in limited driving mode. And says A/C charging not possible

The car had not moved and was locked and no access via software initiated during that time.

I then manage to get to a DCFC and plug in for 5 minutes. The battery still reported 0% and it took in just over 1 kWh!

I return home to contact the dealership and plugged it in at home where it drew 7.4 kWh and managed to get up to 16% (49 miles).

I drive the 8 miles to the dealership and it tanks to 2% after 5 miles, requiring me to stop at another DCFC, where it charged to 69% in 30 minutes (reporting 133 miles). It only drew 12.05 kWh, suggesting to me that the battery was in fact almost 100%, but the software is messed up and doesn’t know what’s there, as the limited performance didn’t seem to stop me reaching 50-60 mph. I then get to the garage e miles away and have 64% left and 108 miles.

The dealership have never experienced this before and it’s all happened 1 month before my service (the car was new at the beginning of June last year). They may get round to it before my service but can’t guarantee it, so I’m in a petrol courtesy car for at least a month.

Anyone experienced this sort of issue before and if so, what the cause was. I’ve had lots of little software glitches with the car since new that I have reported to the dealership and Renault and they were going to look into them all at its service.

Cheers

I've had the same issue one time nearly a year ago, but never happened again

I stumbled on your post shortly after listing mine. Did you ever get to the bottom of it? I’m assuming it just went away on its own.

An update:

My dealership have spent two weeks trying to identify this failure. No error codes seen. Software and car batteries in good order. As I had taken photos, they escalated it to Renault.

They’ve never seen anything like it and it may be linked to the power cuts while charging, but nothing has been affected.

Renault global now have a digital copy of our Megane to try to identify what could have possibly happened.

I’d recommend everyone that has this issue (car charged to a percentage and shortly after without being used it reports 0%) to get in touch with their dealership and to contact Renault UK. That way, the more reports, the more likely it will get sorted.

The solution to it occurring again is to try to charge it. If that doesn’t work, call Renault Assist to get them to send someone out to do diagnostics.

Hope this helps someone.

Our Megane suffered this battery anomaly today.
It was charged overnight to 90% as normal on Saturday night.
This afternoon my wife drove home from work and parked in Aldi, when the car was parked up it was at roughly 48%.
After 20 minutes she returned to the car and the battery was now showing 0% and limited performance on the dash as well as the tortoise symbol showing.
She managed to drive the 1 mile home but everything was off, heating the lot.
We put it straight on max charge and it’s currently showing 43% after just over 2 hours.
Please see the attached picture of the dash.
After reading this thread I’m hoping it’s okay in the morning but I’m going to ring our local dealer and report the incident.
Does anyone have any further advice?
