Is your Megane a UK vehicle?

Unfortunately the automatic parking isn’t an option on any model here.

However my experience of previous cars, found the automatic parking feature to be interesting but too slow and complex to do quickly. So much so, we ended up using it once to show someone and then never used it again!

Not missing out on anything. Just cool to try it out. Like you say, probably only the once!

Thanks.

Now the Megane has had a little tweak in 2024, it seems to be available on the iconic.

I have just collected my new megane iconic which has the park assist.
I tried it in a quiet car park, it does not work like the manual instructions state as I was millimetres from scraping another car. You need to control the speed, braking and gear changing. The manual tells you the car will control all of these with only the driver having to apply the accelerator with light pressure throughout the entire manoeuvre.

I will be reporting this to Renault in the morning as it is dangerous.
This is not the first car I've had with park assist so I'm used to using a similar system.

I've used it two or three times. The car has trouble finding spots that seem like obvious contenders. But on two occasions it managed to park into a spot I would never have managed. If it were more reliable at spotting where to start the process I'd be able to rely on it more.

The MY25 Megane e-tech has the auto parking but videos on Youtube suggest it's a poor effort by Renault and does not work well.
In some markets the Megane e-tech has side park assist so giving 360 degree parking sensors but this does not seem to be the case for UK, well side park assist is not listed on Renault UK spec for the Megane.

I have a 10 month old iconic and never heard of this and would have no clue how to try. Gone are the days when you have a user book so fat it fills the glovebox!.
