Our 73 plate UK Megane after almost a year of chasing Renault multimedia via WhatsApp, today got its final openrlink 2.1.2 OTA update, meaning that the fixes in it now apply. Renault technical in France have been responsible for pushing 2.1.0 back in February after sorting out why we just simply never got any OTA updates. Then five months later this month, we chased again and this week 2.1.1 arrived, followed by 2.1.2 today.

An added bonus is we’ve now we’ve got a new driving eco tile - despite being told early Meganes couldn’t get this function. All recent Meganes already had this from the factory. Our Megane is a Launch edition (produced in November 2022) and it appears many of the late produced 2022/early 2023 Meganes rolled without getting any or very few OTA updates, least of all the new openrlink 2.1.2, plus they had the driving eco tile missing, so just a gap in the tiles. Renault liked to constantly tell us our Megane was up to date and the dealers also seemed to know very little, again insisting there weren’t any updates to roll. Clearly there were. Then we were told to await the next batch release, which again never happened without pushing them time and time again.

Goodness knows if we will ever get 3.1.0 without any intervention OTA or not!

Still some way to go to beat my previous car (a Volvo XC60) which was SIX software versions and several prominently advertised and genuinely useful features behind (like moving functions buried in the touchscreen to physical buttons) with no sign of an update. I even took it to the dealer and they said nothing was wrong. I had a long list of other gripes and sold it less than a year old.

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and relatively new to the Mégane e-Tech (I picked up my pre-owned car back in Aug this year) and my only real frustration at this point is with the system software updates. My car, which was registered in Aug 2023, is currently on version 1.1.0. My Renault app is telling me my car is due an update soon, but as to when that'll happen and to what version only time will tell. However, I am interested by Neilgall's post (July 30th 2024) as he said his dealer updated his software, but when I asked my dealer if they could update my software I was told they couldn't and that I'd have to await the OTA update. Has anyone else had their car's software updated by their local dealer? Thanks in advance.

Despite having chased Renault for the last 6 months for an update I'm still running on v1.1.0. Car registered April 2023, picked up May 2024

Keep pestering them via WhatsApp ;) https://www.renault.co.uk/contact.html
I also checked for Updates daily. I think in the end, they just bumped me to the top of the list, to get rid of me..... :)

Thanks SinlessUK for the advice. I've already been onto them via WhatsApp (for about a month now) and all I've been told is to wait for the FOTA. It seems to me that nobody at Renault has a real clue about this new technology. I'm far from being a Tesla fan boy (if I was I would have bought one), but clearly they're miles ahead of the rest of the auto makers when it comes to this new(ish) technology. Hopefully the rest will eventually catch-up.
