Hi all,
From tests I can see that the actual charing curve is a bit lower than wht Renualt says. But my own resulst are very very poor, whatever I compare with.
-I use pre conditioning by setting a charge station some 30 minutes ahead
-Remaining battery level is around 10 to 20 %
-Temperate outside is aroudn 0 to 10 degrees C
-I go to a super fast charger ( 150 to 300 kW) and of course use the correct cable and plug. I only check when I'm alone at the station and there are several chargers, so power should be there
-I charge until about 80% full
I get charging power around 25 to 35 kW, even after the first 5-10 minutes when battery level is very low. At a few seconds or many up to 30 seconds, I have seen 40 to 50 kW on the meter but it drops very very fast again.
Last week I had an average of 25 kW at at 150kW station, charging from 10 to 30 %. Around 5 degrees outside, not pre conditioning that time but had driven for 2 hours
What do you recon about this? I'm super disappointed so far.

I’ve used fast DC chargers of all brands all over the country in all conditions and I don’t think I’ve ever seen my car get over approx 75kwh. It’s not a huge battery so it still doesn’t take long at those sort of speeds buts still a disappointment
I've had 120kW twice with mine. Once was on about 30% charge in the middle of a longer trip with time to precondition, the second time was on 7% after only about 10 minutes driving. It did fall quickly back to around 100kW both times, but that second time I was at 80% in the time it took to buy and drink a coffee. I haven't had to rapid charge very often, and always in relatively good conditions of 10-15°C but it's generally been a good experience.

My Megane is still relatively new at just 1 year old, but I tested mine at a fast charger and got 129kWh for a short time after which it tailed off very gradually just as the FASTNED graph says pretty much.
This graph is available on the excellent EV-database.
Do you think it’s possible your Megane may have a fault?
When you say you pre-conditioned the battery, was this by using the charging station as the destination in the sat nav?
It doesn’t sound right to me

I've seen 120kw+ a few times when rapid charging during long motorway runs after pre-heating, but like others i've observed this tail off to 90kw and below fairly quickly. Given the size of the battery 20-80% still comes up in around 30 minutes.

I've had 128kW at a Tesla V4 after setting it as the charging stop, that was in very cold and wet conditions too. Dropped to around 90kW eventually. Usually get over 100kW at Gridserve and this tails off to about 80kW after 30 minutes and 80% SOC.
Sounds like your car has a problem.
