Okay boys and girls, so I've owned my Mégane Techno since July 2023 and for the most part, I still love it. The frustrating app aside, I wanted to know from others whether the range and mpkwh the trip guessometer is telling me is what others are experiencing, or does it point to an issue with the car I have, or is it simply that I have a heavy foot?!

I've read countless posts where owners say they average 3.2-3.5mpkwh in WINTER, whereas I've only been seeing that sort of figure in summer - and that's pushing it. This winter I've been seeing between 2.4-2.8mpkwh average in Eco. I've been getting around 150 miles max off a full charge this winter which is woeful

My car doesn't have a heat pump.

What do other owners think? Am I the problem, or is the car faulty? Polite answers only please

The absolute worst I've seen in winter is 170 indicated across mixed driving but a couple of things to bear in mind. I seem to remember an early test by Bjorn Nyland (if you havent heard of him check out his YouTube channel) establishing that the useable indicated battery on the Megane is below 60kw - and he drove the car about 28km after the battery % was at 0. That would make my 170 more like 187 miles.

Second thing is whether you use the paddles to hypermile. I think a lot of people are being lead to believe leaving the car in max regen is a good thing whereas I coast wherever I can and only apply regen whenever I slow down. My car is also without a heat pump and I'm not that light footed , plus I always drive with climate control on auto - but I think that habit learned from driving an EV with a much smaller battery helps.

Glad you still love it irrespective - mine still makes me smile too!

Hi Diefenbaker1977,
I use the powermeter and try to cruise around on 0% as much as possible, but only when I’m really hyper-miling.
I’m determined to get good range which, in turn will get me good tyre mileage.
Sometimes though I do feel the need to step on it 😂

Do you drive at night a lot?
I’ve been wondering about the amount of battery drain from the super LEDs at night… might drop the m/kWh a bit?
