So I'm on a long 5 week world tour from the UK.
My Megane Etech is parked at a friend's.
Today I tried the My Renault App while in Canada to check the cars charge level.
The app poops up a message
Sorry this app isn't available in this country.
Now that's incorrect as I have the app on my phone. Why should the app be checking where I'm located? (I tried a VPN back to the UK but no joy)
This seems a completely pointless r striction.
Why can't I use the My Renault app in Canada?
So I was using my vpn on my phone Saturday to view some f1 on the f1 app and vpn-d into the USA.
I was in the UK though.
I didn't switch it off after and opened the Renault app to check the charge on my car, it pinged up the same message as you had.
Thinking, oops, need to switch vpn off, I then did that and closed the app completely.
However everytime I opened the app afterwards, even though not connected to vpn it pinged up the same message.
even after rebooting the phone.
the only thing that fixed it was uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.
Maybe it is the same with you, if you uninstall the app, then vpn into the UK and reinstall, it might work out there.
maybe it just sets a flag when it pings you're in a not supported country which it doesn't reset.
Jusy another one to add to the list of bugs I guess.

I hadn't heard of Kelec until I saw it mentioned above. Works quite well and looks nice. Everything you need on one screen. It's the work of one student and says in the privacy policy it records nothing and talks to nothing but Renault servers, just like how I used to build apps 10 or 15 years ago
