Regen braking

I suspect that Renault have realised that their dealers will get nothing for brake replacement with max regen on all the time. My Tesla has done 72 k and I just checked the brake pads - very little wear - they will last as long as the car! Not good news for dealers (other than Tesla) who make most of their profits from servicing.

Maybe they found that one pedal driving all the time allows rust to form on the brake discs?
In an emergency, the brakes won't respond properly. So having to brake to fully stop prevents that.
But who knows with car manufacturers these days!

Hmm, plenty other cars have it. I had a hybrid Volvo which could do it, and the system used regen and the mechanical brakes together.

The discs themselves will not rust up if used a few times a week as you still use the brake sometimes as you cannot be perfect at one pedal driving. However any mounting pins might corrode on our salty roads. One of the very few service items on the Tesla is to grease the brake pins every year. Incidentally the only other service items are replace the cabin air filter every 2 years and check the brake fluid for h20 after 4 years. Apart from tyres , wipers and filling the screen wash that is all the servicing needed with a car company that is not really interested in servicing. ... My sons Kia e-niro seems to need a full annual service, isn't that curious?
