However as of yesterday we learned something new......... What we have found is that one of the keys fobs is good and the second is not. We have one of those faraday pouches from Halford and when we put the second key in that no more false alarms. Speaking to the dealer after this realisation.... have stated its a known issues but very new and it seems to be something to do with key cloning protection ..... They have stated a solution is being worked on.

Hope this helps
Thanks for posting this, from reading the posts on here, I'm not sure they can say it is a new fault
I have just been on the phone trying to book my car with my local dealer for the alarm going off intermittently. It's been happening from delivery which was about a month ago.
I've noticed that it is more likely to go off if it locks and I walk around the front area of the car or the vicinity of the front once locked (After some time). An example would be that the car is on the drive and I'm in the garage with the key in my pocket.
I've been concentrating on getting the Renault app up and running correctly over the last two weeks, so that my charger can communicate with the car. Now that Renault have finally sorted it, I'm keen to get the alarm sorted.
I'm enjoying the car, so hoping they can resolve this annoying problem.

In the meantime, I may start using the other key to trial that.

Early wake up call with my alarm on my Magane going off this morning. Found this site and tried to 4 presses of the ignition button but still had the hazzard lights flashing. Disconnected the car battery which set the alarm off again and when i reconnected the battery the alarm stopped, it beeped once and that was it, hazzard lights have stopped, car is locked so lets see if i get woken up again!

I put my car into Renault and they said that it could take 3 attempts, reroute the wiring, change the ultra sound sensor and then change the whole alarm.
Rerouting didn't resolve mine so they booked it back in and just changed the whole alarm. This resolved my problem and it's been fine since.

I have to say that the dealership have been great.

Glad to hear that you're alarm has been resolved Pughy3. I'm waiting on dealership booking my E Tech in for a replacement alarm system and praying it fixes it!
I've had the - alarm goes off 20 or so seconds after locking. Thankfully no random going off at any time.

It totally fixed mine thankfully, it only ever goes off now, if I leave the window open, which is understandable.
I think I had PTSD after it though, any alarm going off, triggered me :)
Mine went off more often than not like yours, not long after locking the car, but it did very occasionally go off randomly.
I'm sure your will be fine when its replaced.

Well, I've had a new alarm unit installed but it hasn't solved the problem! Back to the dealership next week.
Has anyone one this thread actually had the alarm problem resolved?
I'm considering returning the car ...

Visited dealership this morning and have been told that Renault are manufacturing a new alarm unit for the Megane to fix the problem. Mine ordered but may be a while as so many others queued for a fix!
I'll let you know what happens 😌

Thats a shame. Did they change the whole alarm system, I was told that they have to go through a 3 stage approach. Something like * more wire harness
Then * Change sensor then *change complete alarm.
They moved my harness, i got home and as I sat down the alarm wentπŸ™ˆπŸ˜€. I wasn't laughing at the time though.
They had it back in and went to stage 3, thankfully, and changed the complete alarm.
