Hi all

I've had this megan electric for under 2 weeks,I was probably the first person to have a 25 plate on the road.
I quite like the car,the only things I could fault on it was the USB ports being USB C ,I mean what were they thinking there?
My other BIG gripe is the alarm, there is no dog mode so I can't leave the windows slightly open as far as I know,if anyone knows different please let me know as I really need this with summer coming.
The radio and everything is also disabled when the alarm is activated.
I know you can long press (5 seconds) to deactivate the motion detection which makes an EXTREMELY loud and annoying long bleep.

Then today it started sounding the alarm for no reason and on googling it seems to be a common problem on Megan's.. Great:(

The alarm needs more settings it's quite ridiculous .
The dealer suggested using the app auto Air con but I'd be too scared that the car decides to heat the car up and cook my dog to death.

Am I missing something with the alarm settings? Can the radio be left on for the dig while I'm away from the car?
Can I leave the windows slightly open somehow? This is the most important thing to me.

And renault if you're listening please update ASAP and give the user more options.

Its a decent car tho overall so far,I came from a vauxhall mokka electric and prefer this megan of the two,its also pretty quick for a car (,im a biker)

Yep, I took delivery of mine in Jan and almost from the offset the alarm goes off as soon as it locks itself. No idea why. I've taken anything down that may sway like air freshners etc. It got better but still get random blasts of the alarm

Hi burney01210

Firstly yes, the alarm going off randomly is an issue thats been around for a while, but only affecting some E techs. There is apparently a new version of the alarm system which fixes the problem. You should ask your dealer to get one fitted for you when available.
There is a way of turning off the internal sensors, although I don't know if leaving a window slightly open causes a problem.
Turning off the internal sensors involves pressing the Power button 4 times before exiting the car. Check the manual, I think it's explained in there.
The other option, which I believe turns the alarm off completely, is to have the driver door open, press and hold the door lock button on the centre console until you hear the door locks clunk a second time, let go of the button and shut the door. The indicators will flash and wing mirrors fold and the car is locked. I have the alarm problem and I've used this method for a couple of months.

I've tried the 2 methods I gave above, both with windows open and they worked, for me.
Either, stop the car, turn Power off, open driver door then press and hold Door Lock button on centre console. The locks will clunck when you press it, wait until they clunck again and let go. Exit car and shut driver door. The car will lock with indicators flash.
Alternatively, stop the car, turn Power off, open driver door then press the Power button 4 times, so you see the car come on then off twice. Exit the car and walk away and it will auto lock with a long beep and indicators flash.
