Hi! I had my 60 kWh Megane E-tech for almost 2 years, but seldom charged on public DC points, just at home with AC which works fine.
But lately I do need DC charging, and it seems impossible to get charging power above 40 kW. Today I tried 2 chargers after each other, with as much control of data as I could get.
*I had 30 % left and the battery was pre heatead by charging at home from 10 to 30 %, and I had also set a charger as destination.
* Outside temp 2 degrees C
* First charger had capacity of 300 kW. 6 units , all free. I get an almost flat curve of 28 to 31 KW , and I give up after 13 minutes
* I drive 5 minutes to another station with 200 kW chargers, 8 units, all free. I get an almost flat curve of 37 to 43 KW , and I give up after 10 minutes.
I believe the battery must be at a decent temperature during these tests, and for sure there is plentöly of power available. If I check some curves, I should get somewhere from 75 to 100 kW.
I talked to the dealer, they are unable to test DC charge themselves! But they say " it depends on so many factors bla bla bla". I understand that but I never got above 50 kW! Not even with higher outdoor emperatures Not in this test, and not before.
Any similar experiences? Thanks!
Too low charging speed

I doubt the battery was warm enough, you'd be better off tryig DC charging after running the battery down to about 10% and pre-heating by setting the DC charger as a charging stop. I've achieved 128kW at a Tesla Supercharger with a pre-heated battery, but only got 70kW today without pre-heating.
But your numbers seem particularly poor.

Hi Berra,
I see your point, but SomersetBob is right, you must set the charger as the destination in the sat nav or it won't warm up the battery enough to accept a fast charge.
Do give it a go, because at 30% you should be getting about 106kW charging speed.
I'd love to know if this sorts it out for you.

The Renault lack of battery prewarm manual control is a real pain. I often need to charge ad hoc and its a pain having to set a charge point in the nav to achieve that. That said I try and charge at 40% or less and after an hours driving or more. That seems to give me reasonable charging speeds that often ramp up over time. 10 or 15 mins may not be enough to see the speed ramp up.
