Renault Megane E-Tech Electric Forum

Hi from Sydney, Australia.
When recently starting my fairly new (3,000km) e-tech, a red warning sign appeared on the screen - "Electric motor failure". I contacted Renault Road Service and they did a diagnostic scan, then advised me to take the car to the local dealer asap. Their service people did a software update and said that the issue had been resolved. On starting the car however the warning sign re-appeared. Back to the service bay and an hour later the car was ready to go, no warning sign appearing. The following day I started the car only to see the warning sign again. The car drives OK and the warning sign now disappears after a while but the questions remain, why is it appearing and what is the problem.
Would appreciate hearing if anyone has had similar experiences or can offer advice as to what might be happening. Thank you.

Sorry to hear that, my problem was related to me, the driver, so it's not the same issue as yours, but I will explain my problem just in case anyone sees your topic.
I started to have the Electric Motor Failure Warning come up on the dash, alsong with an sudible warning and sometimes it would bring the car speed down to 2 mph , where I had to pull over and stop and power down and power up. This happened occasionally and I mentioned this to my Renault dealership when it went into them to fix my alarm.
They told me that this can happen if the Switch under the brake pedal malfunctions. She also said that it can happen if you have the press the brake and the accelerator at the same time. As soon as she said this, I knew that was my problem because I brake with my left foot and occasionally, how ever light it is, I can be in a position where I have my feet on both pedals at the same time.
I did tell her that , that is what it must be and it's my fault but she said that they would change teh switch anyway.
I still brake with my left foot but I'm more careful these days.

I'd advice against resting a foot on the brake while accelerating. The brake peddle is moved by the computer to control regen and braking and foot pressure may well interfere with that.
